The International Training Programme takes place twice a year, in March and September via the online platform of Zoom. Join a small group of delegates for a 2 week conference where we will discuss dog population management, protocols, social media, marketing, volunteer management, canine behaviour, shelter management and fundraising to name a few topics!

If you already have a shelter, we focus on how to run it efficiently and look at the importance of education and fundraising. If you don’t already have a shelter, we can advise you on the best way to affect real change without one.

We will have expert speakers presenting where you will get the chance to ask questions and suggest ideas in a creative and fun environment. You will also get the chance to network and make friends with like minded people which can be so important in realising the common challenges faced by everyone who works in animal welfare.

Monday 7th March- Friday 18th March 2022

After the success of the last 3 virtual ITP's, we will be going ahead with another virtual event in March 2022.

The first week will be presentations, discussions and workshops focused on dog population management and the second week will be of a similar nature but with topics grouped together on designated days such as a 'marketing day' and a 'canine behaviour day' to name a few.

The sessions will be as interactive as possible and therefore numbers will again be kept low. This means that the application process will be competitive so please apply now to avoid disappointment.

The deadline for applications is February 7th.

Feedback from some of our international delegates

“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to attend the virtual ITP!  Words are not enough to explain how much this training programme has helped me to understand much better many things, from the construction to the rehoming programme, the importance of choosing wisely how to develop the educational programmes for the children and adults of my community as well as how to organize ourselves for success, and son on, and so on!”

“Just wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who made this week such a fantastic learning experience”.

“Loving the two weeks and learning loads. Thank you for this great opportunity”.

“Thank you so very much for this incredible opportunity I cannot explain how much it meant to me to be hearing you all, you are a true inspiration and your services and facilities plus energy are second to none.  I have indeed learnt a lot which I intend to put into practice and help others do so too.  I really don't think animal welfare wise anyone does it better than you”.

Completing and submitting a form is not a guarantee of attendance. Most delegates are selected by matching their training requirements to the range of subjects covered, which is extremely broad.

After the course, we ask participants to tell us what their organisation is now doing differently as a result of the training. The most successful organisation is awarded £500 towards travelling to the next International Companion Animal Welfare conference.
