INTERNATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME (ITP)

Our International Training Programme takes place twice a year, in March and September via the online platform of Zoom. Join a small group of delegates for an interactive programme with more than 20 sessions over 2 weeks, discussing subjects from dog population management, canine behaviour, shelter management and veterinary protocols to social media, marketing, and fundraising to name a few!

If you have a shelter, we will discuss how to run it efficiently, and share the best way to affect real change without one.  The importance of changing human behaviour and useful fundraising tips are other key sessions

We will have expert speakers presenting and you can ask questions and share experiences in a creative, fun and supportive environment. You will also get the chance to network and make friends with others around the world looking to improve dog welfare; this is so important in finding solutions to the common challenges faced by everyone who works in animal welfare.

Where in the World are you?

Our online International Training Programmes have proved very successful, and we continually review feedback to improve and adapt them

In 2024 we will be holding 2 separate ITPs for different regions; this will facilitate the content being as relevant as possible for different contexts.

Our March online ITP is being held from Monday 18th March - Thursday 28th March 2024 and will be for delegates from outside of Europe. So, if you are working to improve dog welfare in Asia or Africa or Central/South America, and would like to participate, please do download the application form below and email it to us.

The sessions will be as interactive as possible and therefore numbers will again be kept low. This means that the application process will be competitive so please apply now to avoid disappointment.

The deadline for applications for the 2024 March ITP is Friday 23rd February 2024.

In September 2024, we will be holding a European Training Programme (ETP), supported by Purina which will be for organisations working in Europe, with content tailored for them.  We will provide further details on this ETP in the summer.

Feedback from some of our international delegates

“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the opportunity to attend the virtual ITP!  Words are not enough to explain how much this training programme has helped me to understand much better many things, from the construction to the rehoming programme, the importance of choosing wisely how to develop the educational programmes for the children and adults of my community as well as how to organize ourselves for success, and son on, and so on!”

“Just wanted to express my gratitude to everyone who made this week such a fantastic learning experience”.

“Loving the two weeks and learning loads. Thank you for this great opportunity”.

“Thank you so very much for this incredible opportunity I cannot explain how much it meant to me to be hearing you all, you are a true inspiration and your services and facilities plus energy are second to none.  I have indeed learnt a lot which I intend to put into practice and help others do so too.  I really don't think animal welfare wise anyone does it better than you”.

Completing and submitting a form is not a guarantee of attendance. Most delegates are selected by matching their training requirements to the range of subjects covered, which is extremely broad.
