We have been working in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2012 and have experience and expertise in the region. There are things we have done very well there to humanely reducethe roaming dog populations on the streets and change public attitudes and behaviour towards responsible dog ownership. More than 100,000 dogs have been neutered, over 450 local vets trained in appropriate surgical neutering and more than a quarter of a million children in schools reached with staying safe around dogs messages. We think there are strong lessons here that we can use to support programmes in the wider Balkans region where the aim is to have no roaming street dogs in the long term.
